Active substance: Orlistat
The main effects and Alli pharmacodynamics: The preparation is a food supplement containing Orlistat in low dosages of 60 mg. The preparation works by inhibiting gastrointestinal lipase an enzyme which promotes the absorption of fat from different foods. The preparation does not affect the absorption of proteins or carbohydrates.
Proposed clinical use: The preparation is intended in treatment of obesity or metabolic syndrome.
Absolute and relative contraindications: The drug must not be used in cases of:
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparations or a known allergic reaction to drugs of the same class.
- Malabsorption
- Patients under 21 years of age
- Hyperoxaluria
The preparation should be used with caution after a consultation with your doctor in the following conditions:
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Elderly patients
Possible adverse reactions: As any drug Alli may express specific side effects. If a side effect is stated below it will not necessarily appear during the use of the preparation.
