The main effects and Proscar pharmacodynamics:
Proscar contains Finasteride 5mg that is used for benign prostate hyperplasia treatment. Finasteride works by suppressing the activity of the enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase type II. It is intracellular enzyme that converts testosterone into its more active form DHT (dehydrotestosterone). By decreasing DHT levels Finasteride reduces the size of enlarged prostate gland, improves urine flow and relives the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

Proscar is used to relive the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
Absolute and relative contraindications: The drug must not be used in cases of:
- Hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredients
- Hepatic failure
- Renal failure
- Prostate gland cancer
- Women and children
The preparation should be used with caution after a consultation with your doctor in the following conditions:
- Obstruction of urinary passages
Possible adverse reactions: As any drug Proscar may express specific side effects. If a side effect is stated below it will not necessarily appear during the use of the preparation. - Erectile dysfunction
- Decreased libido
- Decreased ejaculation amount
