Active substance: Testosterone enanthate
The main effects and Testoviron Depot pharmacodynamics:
Testosterone enanthate is an ester of testosterone with a very strong androgenic and anabolic effects which stimulate strength and mass gain in the shortest time. Intensive weight gain is associated with significant accumulation of water due to retention of electrolytes and water. Testoviron Depot stimulates the production of erythropoietin and red blood cells. The antagonistic action with respect to estrogens is applied in the treatment of fibroids, endometriosis, breast cancer.
Proposed clinical use:
In men as a hormone replacement therapy for disorders associated with testosterone deficiency:
- Puberty retardation
- Genital hypoplasia, eunuchoidism
- Endocrine impotence
- Hypopituitarism
- Symptoms of male menopause (decreased libido, mental and physical activity)
- Postcastration syndrome (androgen deficiency after castration)
- Osteoporosis caused by androgen deficiency
In women:
- Hyperestrogenism, functional bleeding
- Uterine fibroid
- Endometriosis
- Menopause (in combination with estrogens)
- Breast cancer
- Osteoporosis
Absolute and relative contraindications: The drug must not be used in cases of:
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparations or a known allergic reaction to drugs of the same class.
- carcinoma of the prostate or breast cancer in men
- prostatic hypertrophy with symptoms of urination disorders
- nephrosis or nephrotic phase of nephritis
- edema
- hypercalcemia
- abnormal liver function
- diabetes
- cardiac and coronary insufficiency, myocardial infarction (in a history)
- atherosclerosis in elderly men
- pregnancy, lactation
The preparation should be used with caution after a consultation with your doctor in the following conditions:
- latent or marked heart failure
- renal dysfunction
- hypertension
- epilepsy
- migraine
- hypernephroma
- lung cancer with bone metastases
- prepubertal boys
Possible adverse reactions: As any drug Testoviron Depot may express specific side effects. If a side effect is stated below it will not necessarily appear during the use of the preparation. However if any of the given side effects do manifest please consult your doctor immediately. Testoviron Depot adverse effects include the following:
- Priapism and frequent erections
- Boys in the prepubertal period - accelerated sexual development, increased frequency of erections, penis enlargement, premature closure of epiphyses
- Spermatogenesis and sperm maturation violations, oligospermia, decreased volume of ejaculate
- Abnormalities of the prostate gland
- Women - bleeding from the birth canal, increased libido; prolonged use of the drug may cause virilization
- Hirsutism, gynecomastia
- Seborrhea, acne, oily skin, accelerated hair loss
- Sodium and water retention, edema
- Symptoms of hypercalcemia
- Thrombophlebitis
- Nausea, cholestatic jaundice
- Headache, depression, aggressiveness, anxiety, sleep disturbance, paresthesia

Testoviron Depot is known to interact with the following drugs and drug groups:
- anticoagulants
- hypoglycemic drugs
- liver enzymes inductors
- immunosuppressants
