Testosterone is androgenic preparation. Endogenous androgens (testosterone) secreted by testicles and its active metabolite dehydrotestosterone are responsible for development of external and internal sexual character (hair growth, libido). Testosterone enanthate exerts general action on proteins anabolism, development of skeletal muscles, distribution of subcutaneous fat, excretion of nitrogen, sodium, potassium, chlorides, water. Testosterone pituitary secretion of gonadotropins.
Proposed clinical use:
In men:
Testosterone enanthate is used for conditions associated with a deficiency or absence of endogenous testosterone:
- Primary hypogonadism- testicular failure
- Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (congenital or acquired) - Idiopathic gonadotropin or luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) deficiency
In women:
- Metastatic mammary cancer
Testosterone enanthate is actively used in bodybuilding to build muscles mass
Absolute and relative contraindications: The drug must not be used in cases of:
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparations or a known allergic reaction to drugs of the same class.
- Breast cancer
- Prostate cancer
- prostatic hypertrophy with symptoms of urination disorder
- Kidney diseases
- Edema
- High calcium blood levels
- Hepatic failure
- diabetes
- Coronary heart disease, stroke, heart attacks
- History of atherosclerosis in elderly men
- Pregnancy
- Lactation
The preparation should be used with caution after a consultation with your doctor in the following conditions:
- latent or severe heart failure
- renal dysfunction
- hypertension
- epilepsy
- migraine
- prepubertal boys
Possible adverse reactions: As any drug Testosterone may express specific side effects. If a side effect is stated below it will not necessarily appear during the use of the preparation. - Male: gynecomastia, oligospermia
- Female: amenorrhea and other menstrual irregularities, inhibition of gonadotropin secretion, virilization

- Fluid and Electrolyte Disturbances - Retention of sodium, chloride, water, potassium, calcium and inorganic phosphates.
- Digestive system - nausea, cholestatic jaundice, changes in liver function tests; rarely, hepatocellular neoplasms, peliosis hepatis
- Hematologic Inhibition of clotting factors II, V, VII, and X; bleeding in patients on concomitant anticoagulant therapy; polycythemia.
- Nervous System - Increased or decreased libido, headache, anxiety, depression, and generalized paresthesia.
- Metabolism - Increased serum cholesterol.
- Other: - Rarely, anaphylactic reactions; inflammation and pain at injection site.
