Active substance: Testosterone Cypionate
The main effects and Testosterona-C pharmacodynamics:
Testosterone cypionate is an ester of testosterone. It stimulates the growth and development of male sex organs and secondary sexual characteristics, development of larynx, body muscles and fat distribution. Delays nitrogen, sodium, potassium and phosphorus, enhances anabolism and decreases catabolism of proteins. Stimulates production of erythropoietin and red blood cells.
By the mechanism of negative feedback, Testosterone Cypionate inhibits secretion of luteinizing and follicle-stimulating hormones of the pituitary gland and inhibits spermatogenesis. In men with primary hypogonadotropic hypogonadism Testosterone Cypionate normalizes the levels of gonadotropins.
In women, Testosterona-C inhibits pituitary gonadotrophic function, the function of the ovaries, mammary glands, causes atrophy of the endometrium.

- Hormone replacement therapy for disorders associated with testosterone deficiency:
- Delayed puberty
- Genital hypoplasia, eunuchoidism
- Endocrine impotence
- Hypopituitarism
- Symptoms of male menopause (decreased libido, mental and physical activity)
- Androgen deficiency after castration
- Osteoporosis caused by androgen deficiency
Women:
- Hyperestrogenism, functional bleeding
- Uterine fibroid
- Endometriosis
- Menopause (in combination with estrogen)
- Breast cancer
- Osteoporosis
Absolute and relative contraindications: The drug must not be used in cases of:
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparations or a known allergic reaction to drugs of the same class.
- Prostate or breast carcinoma
- prostatic hypertrophy with symptoms of urination disorder
- nephrosis or nephrotic phase of nephritis
- edema
- hypercalcemia
- abnormal liver function
- diabetes
- cardiac and coronary insufficiency, myocardial infarction
- a history of atherosclerosis in elderly men
- pregnancy, lactation
The preparation should be used with caution after a consultation with your doctor in the following conditions:
- latent or severe heart failure
- renal dysfunction
- hypertension
- epilepsy
- migraine
- prepubertal boys
Possible adverse reactions: As any drug Testosterona-C may express specific side effects. If a side effect is stated below it will not necessarily appear during the use of the preparation. However if any of the given side effects do manifest please consult your doctor immediately. Testosterone Cypionate adverse effects include the following:
- Priapism and frequent erections
- In boys in the prepubertal period - accelerated sexual development, increased frequency of erections, increased penile and premature closure of epiphyses
- Spermatogenesis and sperm maturation violation, oligospermia, decreased volume of ejaculate
- Prostate gland abnormalities
- In women vaginal bleeding , increased libido, in prolonged use - virilization
- Hirsutism, gynecomastia
- Seborrhea, acne, oily skin, accelerated hair loss
- Sodium and water retention, edema;
- Symptoms of hypercalcemia
- Thrombophlebitis
- Nausea, cholestatic jaundice, increased level of liver transaminases
- Headache, depression, aggressiveness, anxiety, sleep disturbance, paresthesia
- Allergic reactions
