Active substance: Nandrolone Phenylpropionate
The main effects and Durabolin pharmacodynamics:
Durabolin is an active anabolic steroid with prolonged effect. Has a slight androgenic effect and low toxicity, possesses anti-tumor and antianemic properties. Androgenic properties of Durabolin stimulate the synthesis of nucleic acids (DNA, RNA), structural proteins,, enhance tissue respiration and oxidative phosphorylation in skeletal muscle with accumulation of macroergs (ATP, creatine phosphate). Also, it increases absorption of amino acids from the small intestine (in the background of a diet rich in proteins), creating a positive nitrogen balance, promotes erythropoietin production and activates anabolic processes in bone marrow.
Nandrolone Phenylpropionate promotes Ca2 + fixation in the bones, increasing bone mass in osteoporosis, increases appetite and muscle mass with a corresponding increase in body weight.
Proposed clinical use:
- diabetic retinopathy
- progressive muscular dystrophy
- infantile progressive atrophy
- condition characterized by a negative balance of Ca2 + (senile and postmenopausal osteoporosis, long-term therapy with glucocorticosteroids)
- chronic infections, extensive surgery
- GCS-induced myopathy
- decubital ulcers, burns, severe injury
- anemia
- as an adjuvant in cytostatic therapy
Absolute and relative contraindications: The drug must not be used in cases of:
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparations or a known allergic reaction to drugs of the same class.
- prostate cancer, breast cancer (in men), breast cancer in women (with metastases in the presence of hypercalcemia)
- severe hepatic failure, nephrosis, glomerulonephritis (nephrotic form)
- hypercalcemia (including history)
- pregnancy, pubertal age, lactation period
The preparation should be used with caution after a consultation with your doctor in the following conditions:
- IHD, CHF, marked atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction (including history), hypertension
- cerebrovascular disorders
- chronic renal failure
- epilepsy, migraine
- diabetes mellitus
- prostatic hypertrophy
- liver failure
- children and elderly patients
Possible adverse reactions: As any drug Durabolin may express specific side effects. If a side effect is stated below it will not necessarily appear during the use of the preparation. However if any of the given side effects do manifest please consult your doctor immediately. Nandrolone Phenylpropionate adverse effects include the following:
In men and women:
- progression of atherosclerosis
- iron deficiency anemia
- peripheral edema
- dyspeptic symptoms (pain in the epigastric region, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting)
- abnormal liver function with jaundice
- leukemoid syndrome
- hypocoagulation with a tendency to bleeding
- hepatonecrosis
- hepatic purpura
- cholestatic hepatitis
- increased secretion of the sebaceous glands
- chills
- increased or decreased libido
- diarrhea
- bloating, cramps
- sleep disturbance
In women:
- masculinity
- hypercalcemia
In men:
- in the prepubertal period - virilism (acne, penis enlargement, priapism, formation of secondary sexual characteristics)
- idiopathic hyperpigmentation of the skin
- growth delay or stop
- in postpubertal period - bladder irritation, mammalgia, gynecomastia, priapism, reduced sexual function
- in the elderly - hypertrophy and / or prostate carcinoma

- medicines containing Na+
- food rich in sodium (Na+)
- hepatotoxic drugs
