The main effects and Dinabolin Depot-25 pharmacodynamics:
Dinabolin Depot-25 is an anabolic drug. Penetrating into the cell nucleus, activates the genetic apparatus of cells, leading to increased synthesis of DNA, RNA and structural proteins, activation of the enzymes of the tissue respiration chain and increased tissue respiration, oxidative phosphorylation, ATP synthesis and macroergs accumulation inside the cell. It stimulates the anabolic and inhibits catabolic processes caused by the GCS. Leads to increased muscle mass, decreased fat deposits and negative nitrogen balance. Hematopoietic effects are associated with increased synthesis of erythropoietin. The presence of androgenic activity may contribute to the development of secondary sexual characteristics of male type.
Proposed clinical use:
- cachexia of various etiologies
- disturbance of protein metabolism (after severe trauma, surgery, burns, radiation therapy)
- chronic infectious disease with protein loss
- progressive muscular dystrophy
- GCS-induced myopathy
- diabetic angiopathy
- growth delay in children
- sexual infantilism
- physical development delay in boys
- encephalopathy on the background of alcoholic hepatitis
Dinabolin Depot-25 is also used to stimulate appetite, increase muscle mass and bone density.
Absolute and relative contraindications: The drug must not be used in cases of:
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparations or a known allergic reaction to drugs of the same class.
- prostate cancer, breast cancer (in men), breast cancer (in women with hypercalcemia)
- hypercalcemia
- severe hepatic failure, nephrosis, glomerulonephritis (nephrotic stage)
- pregnancy
The preparation should be used with caution after a consultation with your doctor in the following conditions:
- CHF, coronary atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction (including history)
- diabetes
- prostate hyperplasia
- hepatic / renal insufficiency
- breastfeeding
- elderly patients
- children and teens (the risk of premature closure of epiphyseal growth zones and early puberty in boys and virilization in girls)
Possible adverse reactions: As any drug Dinabolin Depot-25 may express specific side effects. If a side effect is stated below it will not necessarily appear during the use of the preparation. However if any of the given side effects do manifest please consult your doctor immediately. Methandrostenolone adverse effects include the following:
- progression of atherosclerosis
- iron deficiency anemia
- peripheral edema
- dyspeptic symptoms (pain in the epigastric region, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting)
- abnormal liver function with jaundice
- leukemoid syndrome (leukemia, pain in the tubular bones)
- hypocoagulation with a tendency to bleeding
In long-term use:
- hepatonecrosis
- hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatic purpura
- cholestatic hepatitis
- increased secretion of the sebaceous glands
- chills
- increased or decreased libido
- diarrhea, bloating, cramps
- sleep disturbance
In women:
- virilism (masculinity)
- hypercalcemia
In men:
- in the prepubertal period - virilism (acne, penis enlargement, priapism, formation of secondary sexual characteristics)
- idiopathic hyperpigmentation of the skin
- growth delay
- in postpubertal period - bladder irritation
- mammalgia, gynecomastia
- priapism, reduced sexual function
- in the elderly - hyperplasia and / or carcinoma of the prostate

- anticoagulants
- antiplatelet drugs
- insulin
- hypoglycemic agents
- hepatotoxic drugs
- chondrotropic hormone and its derivatives
- corticotropin
- glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids
- Na +-containing drugs and foods rich in Na +
